We respect difference, challenge discrimination and seek to create homes and services in which children, carers and families are heard.
Who we are
Organic Fostering is an independent fostering agency based in Old Trafford, Manchester. We recruit, assess and support foster carers so children and young people can experience safe, nurturing family life.
Our name reflects what we want care to make possible: steady growth, stronger relationships and development that responds to the individual child.
Our nameChildren in care are not defined by what has happened to them. Each child brings their own personality, abilities, history, relationships, culture and hopes.
Our purpose is to match children with carers who can meet their needs thoughtfully and to give those carers the preparation, supervision and practical support required to keep learning. Safeguarding and the child's welfare guide every part of the service.
A child's culture, faith, language and community connections can be vital sources of identity and security. They are considered as part of a broader matching process alongside safety, attachment, education, health, family relationships and the child's views.
Where an exact cultural match is not possible or not consistent with the wider care plan, carers still need the curiosity, humility and practical support to protect the child's identity. This means learning, listening and maintaining meaningful connections rather than making assumptions.
We respect difference, challenge discrimination and seek to create homes and services in which children, carers and families are heard.
We help children and carers build knowledge, confidence and practical skills. Good support creates room for people to participate in decisions about their own lives.
We work within fostering law, regulations, statutory guidance and the National Minimum Standards, and we use supervision, review and feedback to improve practice.
We consider the child's care plan and known needs against a carer's approval, household, experience and ability to provide safe care. A good match is a shared professional decision, not simply the first available bed.
Children may communicate distress through behaviour. Foster carers are helped to look beyond the immediate behaviour, remain curious about what it may mean and respond with safety, boundaries and empathy.
Foster carers are an important part of the team around the child. They contribute observations, records and day-to-day knowledge while working with social workers, schools, health professionals and birth families where appropriate.
Approval is the beginning, not the end, of development. Supervision, reviews and ongoing learning help carers respond to changing needs.
Organic Fostering Ltd is registered with Ofsted as an independent fostering agency.
Our service brings together social work, management, assessment, administration and family-finding experience.
The best way to begin is with an open conversation about your household, your motivation and the questions you still have.
